Hello I'm Caleb! I currently train Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and love to study grappling. As Jiu-Jitsu has become less focused on self-defense many skills have become less empahsised. My search to be a complete grappler has lead me to my admiration of catch wrestling also known as "catch as catch can".

Catch Wrestling's distinguishing feature from other forms of amateur wrestling is it's allowance of submission holds. With the objective to pin an opponent still in place, this ruleset creates a unique form of grappling.

I believe there are many elements found in Catch Wrestling that can be used in BJJ to great success. Some examples are the ability to escape turtle, hit takedowns, and attack submissions from new angles.

There are two main goals of this website. One is to have fun showcasing catch wrestling's great history while paying omage to it's exceptional wrestlers and their fights. The second goal is to create a quick and easy to use video database of catch wrestling techniques that you can easily access for free.
